Carpet diem.....

Well the winter frost is starting to pool up in the ditches and low spots along the roadways, and the beaver family is busy at it. One Project down, 4 more to complete and the nest will be ready to show off to future prospects.

This was definitely a busy project here. Fortunately we have a friend that had the right equipment to get this done right. I got to install and stretch carpet yesterday, and let me tell ya these DIY shows are full of beans, there's no way your gonna just walk into Home Depot or Lowes, get your carpet and come home and install it yourself. You really need the right equipment (Kickers, carpet stretcher, Z-Boards, tack boards, etc.).

My recommendation from this experience, buy your carpet and pad at an outlet mall (Mills Run here in town is excellent, they are on Gilmer Road north of Spring Hill Schools, can't miss 'em look for the VW van on the right as you head towards Gilmer), then find someone or hire someone with the right equipment to get the job done right. I wouldn't invest in the equipment if you don't have to, cause it's not cheap and unless you plan on putting carpet in for a living your gonna have some high dollar equipment that you're not gonna use.

Look at how much the wood just pops with the new carpet. It really helps the living room look more modern and brighter. Bye-bye nasty faux pebble floor (Kyler's gonna miss getting to color on you :) ).

Calling my blog.

This is a new tool I found. It's on a site called Jott. I read about it in PC world. It allows you to call an 866 number and whatever you say in the message is transcribed to text and could be sent through to an e-mail or in this case, sent directly to a blog. Thought it was a neat tool, and worth talking about here. Go and check it out if you're interested in something like this. It's absolutely free. www.Jott.com. listen

Busy Beavers...

Well as the winter snows melt and spring starts popping up along the country side the North American Beaver begins it's yearly routine of collecting sticks and other hardwood to build up it's dam and create for it and it's family a new home.

Well that beaver has evidently bitten us on the dairy aire, cause as the beaver we are working hard on our old home in order to make it more appeasing to beavers seeking new homes, so we can migrate into a new home ourselves. We painted the bathroom, and installed a pedestal sink, new mirror and light fixture this past weekend, and are in the plan process of putting carpet in the living room, painting the master bedroom, putting up some crown molding in the master bedroom, painting the kitchen/dining, and putting some new tile in the bathroom before the first of May (no pressure there).

So as the title states, we are "busy beavers". We'll post some pictures as we go along with the process. So keep us in your thoughts and prayers, as we get ready to see where God leads our family to live. It's time to move up to something a little bigger, and to get that extra bathroom, so momma doesn't go crazy trying to share with us 3 guys. :)

P.S. Having a garage sale this weekend (4/19/08), spread the word. Who knows, you might be able to buy back something we borrowed from ya. :)

Thank Ya'll so much for my wonderful Party on Saturday. Thank you so much for all my great gifts, and especially for the fun we all had together. Mommy and Daddy are still working on getting some pictures up, so it won't be long. Keep checking back.
