Thanksgiving Weekend...

Well Thanksgiving came and went. The aroma of Turkey still lingers in the air, the laughter still echoes in the hall, and the thought of Marks Sausage Balls still makes me laugh. We had a really good time, but really missed the Chicago McElmurry's. It was a full day of eating from noon all the way until almost 9pm. The Midland McElmurry's came by around 5pm and we got to hang with them for several hours. Mimi and Poppy, Nana and PawPaw all arrived prior to lunch time, and we got to hang out with them all day, which was really nice.

The next day was Black Friday and I ventured out and took my chance on some really good deals. I was up and out the door by 2:45am and back to the house around 6:30am, to say the least I slept until almost 9am before getting up and getting the day started. We were supposed to go and cut our Christmas Tree that day, then meet up with the Midland McElmurry's that night for Santa Land, unfortunately Shaun got a bug or something and started running 100.5 to 101 fever all day, and was pretty miserable, so those plans unfortunately got shot.

Saturday we all got up and Shaun had a low fever, but was feeling like his old self again so we ventured out a little after 9am to the local Christmas Tree Farm to cut us a tree. This is our first year as a married couple, and definitely our first year with a family to have a live tree, and let me tell ya, it's hard to pick the right one. When you get that bad boy home you better just be happy it's there, cause there's not reshaping it once you realize it's a crooked tree. :) It's a beautiful tree none the less, cause we cut it together. We had a hay ride out to the trees and a hay ride back with our bounty in tow. Below are some pictures.
