Christmas 2009...
We had a wonderful Christmas, sure missed the Midland McElmurry's, but we had a really good time with the group that made it. Christmas Eve we had Lisa's folks over and they brought gifts for the boys, then Santa Claus stopped by and they boys were up and eager to see what was left for them come Christmas morning.
Christmas Day we had everyone over for supper around 6pm. Rick, Sharyn, and Connor stayed with us that night, and we had a wonderful time with them. Connor is growing up so fast, and it was great as always to get time to catch up with Rick and Sharyn. But boy did the time go fast. It's hard to believe that Christmas has already come and gone again, I remember as a kid it seemed to never get here, and the year just drug by; that's definitely not the case anymore.
Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas Holiday, and are ready for a brand spankin' New Year.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Everyone.

Thanksgiving Weekend...
Well Thanksgiving came and went. The aroma of Turkey still lingers in the air, the laughter still echoes in the hall, and the thought of Marks Sausage Balls still makes me laugh. We had a really good time, but really missed the Chicago McElmurry's. It was a full day of eating from noon all the way until almost 9pm. The Midland McElmurry's came by around 5pm and we got to hang with them for several hours. Mimi and Poppy, Nana and PawPaw all arrived prior to lunch time, and we got to hang out with them all day, which was really nice.

The next day was Black Friday and I ventured out and took my chance on some really good deals. I was up and out the door by 2:45am and back to the house around 6:30am, to say the least I slept until almost 9am before getting up and getting the day started. We were supposed to go and cut our Christmas Tree that day, then meet up with the Midland McElmurry's that night for Santa Land, unfortunately Shaun got a bug or something and started running 100.5 to 101 fever all day, and was pretty miserable, so those plans unfortunately got shot.
Saturday we all got up and Shaun had a low fever, but was feeling like his old self again so we ventured out a little after 9am to the local Christmas Tree Farm to cut us a tree. This is our first year as a married couple, and definitely our first year with a family to have a live tree, and let me tell ya, it's hard to pick the right one. When you get that bad boy home you better just be happy it's there, cause there's not reshaping it once you realize it's a crooked tree. :) It's a beautiful tree none the less, cause we cut it together. We had a hay ride out to the trees and a hay ride back with our bounty in tow. Below are some pictures.

Whirlwind weekend...
It was a busy weekend for the family. We traveled Saturday up to Mt. Vernon to visit with the Cooper Family and celebrate Aunt Nadine's 90th Birthday, what a wonderful time we had. It was so great to see Nadine and to be able to spend time with Aunt Jan, Uncle Harlan and all the cousins; Tim, Kim, Brad, and Darren and their families. I couldn't believe it'd been almost 10 years since I'd seen most of them last...WOW how time flies.
Then that evening it was back over to Longview to visit with Rick, Sharyn, and Connor for a few hours before they headed off to Chicago. Rick flew in Saturday afternoon and met up with Rebecca, Sharyn's Mom in Dallas and then headed into Longview. Then it was up early Sunday morning and away they all went on their excursion to Chicago. We sure miss them already and wish them the best up north. Hopefully it won't be too long and we can get up there and see them.
Can you believe it's already November, and the second week of November at that. Holy Cow, time has flown by way too fast. If everything goes right Mark, Amber, Megan, and Josh will be in for Thanksgiving. We sure hope so. If all get to join us we'll have them, the Vallery's, Mimi and Poppi, Nana and Paw Paw, all over for Thanksgiving supper, that will be so wonderful if it comes to pass....we sure hope so.
Well everyone have a great week and continue to pray for Rick, Sharyn, Connor, and Rebecca as they finish up the second half of their trek to Chicago today.
