Mission Completion.....

Well it's been a long trip, but the bus has finally come to a stop. Dale, Rick and I finished up the closet this weekend. Last weekend we got the frame up and the sheet rock. During the evenings of last week I applied the primer in the new Master Bedroom, and applied the texture paint. Friday Rick and Dale came over and we put up the closet rods with shelf, frame around the door, base boards, and Rick did an awesome job of painting the wall between the kitchen and the new bedroom, so all I had to do was texture it. All we have to do now is add doors and we'll be 100%. It's just totally amazing, even to me, how it turned out. It's hard to believe that our Master Bedroom used to be the living room. When you walk into it, you just can't picture it being anything else than a bedroom now. The wall between the kitchen and bedroom, where the other entrance to the Living room used to be is great. You can't even tell there used to be a door there, it looks and feels like it's always been that way.

Ya'll should all really come and see for yourselves, you would be amazed.

What's that in your mouth??!!!

As a parent there are several phrases you find your self saying. One such phrase that I know I will hear and say from here until the boys are off to college is, "What's that in your mouth?" Well that phrase took on a good turn this evening as I heard Lisa calling from the other room for me to come quick and look. As I went into the room and looked into my smiling boys mouth there it was, forcing it's way through, Kyler's first tooth.

For once the phrase "What's that in your mouth?" was able to be uttered without fear of chocking or just total disgust. Finally a positive spin on a phrase that will be uttered for many more years in the most unpositive of situations. I hope one day I can find a positive situation to say, "Take that diaper off your head and put it back on your brother.", probably not.

Well it won't be long and we'll start to hear the gnashing of teeth at our dinner table, and I'll have someone to share my steaks and brautwerst with. So far he hasn't had any discomfort with it, so we hope with it being so late when they came in that it won't be too painful for him.

A "Foot" above the rest.....

Well we went back for Kylers follow exam today with Dr. Davino in Katy, Texas and everything looks great. The staff were really surprised to see him already walking. They said typically with a surgery like his the child is set back 4 to 5 months on walking. Well ya'll know Kyler, there's definitely no stopping him once he gets his mind on something.

We go back Dec. 18th for what will hopefully be the last follow up. When you look at his feet side by side you can't tell a difference now. It's just so amazing the difference it has made. We are so thankful to Dr. Davino and his wonderful staff at the Richmond Bone and Joint Clinic. I have hot linked the Bone and Joint clinic in the last sentence, so if you know anyone who has a child, doesn't matter the age, that has any bone issues, or club footing, and you don't know where to go, please at least talk with Dr. Davino and his staff, for us they have truly been a God send.

That tickles my RIBS

Like any other Red Blooded American the cry for meat comes early. Kyler had his first taste of ribs tonight, and as you can tell he liked 'em. We started him off with some meat stripped off, bite size just for him. We figured with no teeth yet he really wouldn't be able to enjoy them without it being stripped down.

That satisfied for only so long and it was time to grab the bone and go to town. So the next time your in a rib shack and the guy behind the counter says, "Sorry man, that kid just ate all our ribs." better look around cause Kyler is probably close by.

Dale's 50!!!!

Dale turned 50 today, and he doesn't look at day over 55 :). What a wonderful time we all had. We met at Catfish Village here in Longview and ate 'til we could eat no more. He was really surprised to see everyone there. He received all sorts of nice gifts, and even some good gag gifts. We were so thankful to be able to celebrate such a milestone in his life with him.
